Personal Training in New York City at Physiqology: What You Get at the Consultation

After you have made the determination that you are interested in working with a personal trainer from Physiqology, we have a streamlined process to get you up and running as quickly as possible. We begin with a one-on-one consult which includes goal setting, health questionnaire and screening, and strength and fitness evaluation (as appropriate).

Without a destination, it is impossible to know where you are headed. Setting down goals is the foundation of our initial consult. Oftentimes, the client requires assistance determining their goals, and we do this together. The goal setting process may extend outside of the initial consult for a period of weeks or even months.

A time requirement is set for each goal, so that we have a deadline for achievement. The timeline is not set in stone, but serves as a good measurement to inform us of our progress.

At Physiqology, it is our belief that personal training should inform the body and the mind. Whenever we begin to form new habits, our thought process must change. We believe in addressing the mental, as well as the physical part, of personal training from the very beginning of our relationship with you.

Health Consult

Prospective clients fill out a comprehensive health questionnaire that includes their areas of concern as related to their health and wellness. They also answer questions that give us a big-picture look at their overall nutritional habits. Finally, a battery of approximately 150 multiple choice questions are used to assess areas of weakness or dysbiosis in the client. These questions screen for the following:

  • Food sensitivities or allergies
  • Parasites
  • Heavy metal or other sources of environmental toxicity
  • Overall functioning of the liver and gall bladder
  • Evaluation of blood sugar regulation
  • Evaluation of endocrine functioning, including the pituitary, thyroid, and adrenal glands
  • Evaluation of possible areas of nutritional deficiency
  • Evaluation of sex-specific hormone levels and their metabolism

All of these factors influence your ability to make progress and attain your health and performance goals. We identify, help correct, and monitor these factors throughout the lifecycle of the personal training relationship.

Dietary Consult

In addition to the general heath consult, you receive a dietary consultation. Nutrition is the sum total of what you eat (or do not), as well as your body’s ability to use (or not use) what you ingest.

We identify your place on the dietary continuum, and make appropriate suggestions for improvement. We empower you to put yourself on the fast-track to fat loss, lean body mass development, and strength improvement.
