THE CORE FOUR SUPPLEMENTS
FISH OIL
If there is one magic supplement that cures most diseases, it is fish oil. Fish oil is the primary source of Omega-3 fatty acids also known as essential fatty acids. EFA’s are essential to human function but cannot be produced by the body. For this reason, omega-3 fatty acids must be obtained from an outside source.
SOURCES OF FISH OIL
Omega-3 fatty acids can be found in fish, such as salmon, tuna, and halibut, other marine life such as algae and krill, and nut oils. The most sensible way to get your daily dose of Omega-3 is to supplement your diet with fish oil.
WHY TAKE FISH OIL?
Omega 3 increases blood vessel elasticity (good for the heart), improves cell membrane (good for the skin), improves insulin sensitivity (helps manage blood sugar levels), and increases brain blood flow in conduction of speed (EFA,S insulate the nerves).
DOSAGE
Most people can take nine grams of fish oil per day. Two to three grams per feeding is ideal. You should increase your dosage if you have inflammatory diseases such as arthritis.
An obese person should take at least 30 g per day. Before starting supplementation of fish oil, consult with a Personal trainer or nutritionist for recommended dosages.
When shopping for fish oil, make sure your product is 75% or more concentrated and hexane free.
